Will Quetzalcoatl physically return to Earth during the Venus transit on June 5?

Every Spring Equinox, Feathered Serpent returns in spirit, and his shadow can be seen descending the Pyramid of Kukulkan (as he is known in Guatemala) and slithering off in the direction of the ceremonial cenote at Chichen Itza. On the Fall Equinox, his shadow moves up the pyramid as he returns to the heavens.

But according to the katun wheel prophecies, Feathered Serpent will physically return to the planet during this katun, which ends December 21, 2012. Because the ancient Maya associated Quetzalcoatl with Venus, the rare Venus transit that occurs on June 5 could easily be the day of his arrival, or at least foreshadow it or other important events.

Venus transits take place in pairs, eight years apart, on an average of every 120 years. The first in this pair happened on June 8, 2004. The second Venus transit occurs a day after a partial lunar eclipse on 12 Ajpu, or Sun on June 5, 2012.

Mayan Day Sign for the Venus Transit
June 5 happens to be 13 Imix/Imox (Crocodile) in the Mayan Sacred Calendar, usually called the Tzolkin. The intensity of 13, coupled with the notorious turbulence of Crocodile -- which has been the Mayan day sign of world-shaking events such as 9/11 -- is another reason to think that something big will happen or get underway around June 5.

Or does this Venus transit portend other calamitous events related to the prophecies of the Mayan Books of Chilam Balam as well as those of other ancient civilizations? Or maybe June 5 will turn to be just another one of those “lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer,” as Nat King Cole sang?

What Happened Last Time?
A review of global events around and after June 8, 2004, the preceding Venus transit, might give us a clue. On June 5, three days before the transit, Ronald Reagan died. Five months later, the USA invaded Iraq.

June 8, 2004, was 6 Ik/Iq (Wind) in the Tzolkin, and one interpretation of Wind is that it brings bad news, trouble and disease. Some Caqchikel Maya in Guatemala associate the number 6 with problems. Apparently the Maya got it right, at least in 2004.

The coefficient 13 can bring good or bad, say the Momostecans. With the Venus transit on 13 Imox, the latter appears more likely. Even if nothing dramatic takes place on June 5, it could be a tipping point in the countdown to Winter Solstice, or an acceleration in cosmic energy here on Earth as we approach the completion date of the Long Count, or 13 Baktun cycle.

So good luck, everybody -- and don't stare at the sun!
