John Payne

John B. Payne is an Operations Management Professional specializing in Constraints Management. John has a BSBA in Operations Management from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and an MBA in Operations Management from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. His studies include an extensive study and research of the concept of time from both a qualitative and a quantitative perspective. John completed the Management Training Program at The Home Depot, and was a part of the team that in 1989 designed the interior layout and optimization of the flow of people and products for The Home Depot that still is in place today, 21 years later. John is an active member of the professional organization APICS, American Production and Inventory Control Society, with specific specialization on their body of knowledge known as The Theory of Constraints. He holds certification as a Jonah for his training and practice of The Theory of Constraints with a concentration on identifying and eliminating the time constraints of the system. Through APICS he also holds certification as a CSCP, Certified Supply Chain Professional, with an empasis on the optimization of throughput, including time, in the system. John's study of time and how to optimize it has led him to the Mayan Calendar Portal and the Mayan concept of time. John's intense desire to learn more about time has inspired him to take the next journey in his life by traveling to Guatemala to study the Mayan Calendar, their people, and their culture.
