Provide a brief description of the film/program's story plot for our readers
It was all about 2012 being the end of the world - lots of fighting, fear, aggression.
What is your personal opinion of this film/program, as entertainment?
I did not enjoy it at all. It was a lot of scaremongering.
What is your personal opinion of this film/program as a social and/or cultural message? Does it succeed or fail in this regard?
I think it fails to give any hope for the future of mankind. I didn't enjoy it and I feel disappointed that nothing about the Mayans was documented in the film.
What impact do you feel the movie will likely have on the way people worldwide will perceive the Mayan Calendar?
I think it will have no effect at all as it wasnt about the Mayans.
If you had the chance to remake this film/program, what would you do differently?
I would make the film about the Mayans, the calendar, their civilisation, the knowledge they had and present that in an inspiring film - showing the patterns and giving us hope for the future.
Would you recommend this film/program to your family, friends and colleagues? Why or why not?
No. Certainly not. It is all about fighting and aggression and does not have the message I feel is true or relevant.
What would you like to say to the film's director, and/or the production studio?
I would like you to redo the film - this time with much more information at your fingertips and make it about the Mayans. Really do something that has not been done before - show people that they have control over their lives - and we do not have to live in such fear. Give us a film about raising our consciousness, about co-creation and how we can be empowered to bring peace on earth.
("2012" only) Roland Emmerich is allegedly planning a television series "post 2012". What do you think of this idea?
I am very worried that it will be just more of the same.
