Provide a brief description of the film/program's story plot for our readers
The story is poor, but the scenes are dramatic.
What is your personal opinion of this film/program, as entertainment?
We liked the movie. Emmerich said, this is the ultimate destruction he made, after "The day after tomorrow".
I also like the idea that everything on our mind can happen. So, instead to happen in the "real world", it happened on the screen. The emotional impact might not be that big, as it would be when real. Like dreams.....there too we can work out stuff, which would be a catastrophy in reality.
What is your personal opinion of this film/program as a social and/or cultural message? Does it succeed or fail in this regard?
As I said, it can get things out of the way for the real world.
What impact do you feel the movie will likely have on the way people worldwide will perceive the Mayan Calendar?
It can help to get more people interested in the Mayan calender and find out what it really can mean.
If you had the chance to remake this film/program, what would you do differently?
I would just cut the silly ships in the Himalayas and get more astrology into it. In 2010 Neptune will enter his own sign, pices. This can be a very strong aspect for many to "see" other dimensions.
A catastrophy can help to break the illusion of this world for millions and menkind can make a step into the next levels of evolution.
Would you recommend this film/program to your family, friends and colleagues? Why or why not?
I would recommend only for the pictures, not for the story.
What would you like to say to the film's director, and/or the production studio?
("2012" only) Roland Emmerich is allegedly planning a television series "post 2012". What do you think of this idea?
Lets see what he has to say.
