EXPO MAYA 2012

Expo Maya is an activity that will be executed for the 6th time by the organization Takiliben May Wajshakib Batz (Mayan Mission Eight Batz) of Momostenango, Department of Totonicapan, Guatemala.        

                                                     LET’S PARTICIPATE IN ANCESTRAL WISDOM    

What truly builds an identity is the shared history, values and principles of a people; there should be processes for a socially shared practice.  This very important activity of an educational nature where people can feed their minds and hearts with the wisdom of Mayan culture is being conducted for this reason.   In the year 2008, the Expo Maya activity was realized for the first time; it is a unique activity in the town of Momostenango at this time.  

KEY INFORMATION:  

DATES:   Sunday, March 25th through Tuesday, March 27th, 2012.  

SCHEDULE:  8AM to 5PM  

PLACE:  The area surrounding the PAKLOM sacred hill/altar site.   

REASON:  Sacred New Year festival of ancient/pre-Columbian origin which is the beginning of the Mayan sacred year of exactly 260 days {Tzolkin}.
