How many in your family/community/group are living with the Mayan calendar?

7: myself, wife, brother, 4 friends

How do you use the Mayan Calendar in your everyday life? Do you combine it with the Gregorian calendar?

I have been using the Mayan Calendar since January 2007 and know it by heart now just like a person who goes by the Gregorian Calendar.
I observe the "energies" of the day and watch them manifest. Living in America it is necessary to observe the Gregorian Date, but I live my life by the Mayan Calendar, including the Tzolkin, and Long Count. Understanding the 13 heavens is essential in knowing how the Tzolkin and Long Count work and can help bring a greater understanding of Humanities past, PRESENT, and future.

How has the Mayan Calendar influenced or changed your way of life or thinking?

Living my life by the Mayan Calendar has changed my life profoundly. The first time I was exposed to the Mayan Calendar changed my life instantly. It became apparent to my that my life DID and DOES have a purpose...not only my life but all those around me as well. Not only did I find my sun sign, but I found the sun sign of all of the people who I know and interact with, and it helped me to understand where their personalities come from and why they behave the way they do. This helped me to let go of "negative" thoughts and feelings towards those people because I realized they were beautifully expressing the "energy" in which they were born under according to their Day Sign on the Tzolkin.

What challenges or difficulties have you encountered in integrating the Mayan Calendar into your daily life?

The biggest challenge to integrating the Mayan Calendar into my daily life was learning the "energies" or "meanings" of the Day Signs on the Tzolkin. After I had a basic understanding of the workings of the Tzolkin it became natural to live by it. Of course I am still learning about the Mayan Calendar, there is always more to learn and experience but the most important thing is that it is fun to live by the Mayan Calendar.

What do you feel are the benefits of living with the Mayan Calendar?

To me there are many benefits I have found living by the Mayan Calendar. Each sign on the Tzolkin has a dualistic nature that can be viewed as either "negative" or "positive". The "positive" side of the sign can be viewed as "being at one with creation" and the "negative" side of the sign can be viewed as "being in the ego". To me living by the Mayan Calendar Tzolkin makes it really easy to identify when the ego is the active component in my consciousness, and therefore helps me rise above the ego. It also makes it easy to spot when someone else is having an "ego attack".
