Manik', or Kej in Kiche Maya, is one of the more powerful daysigns in the Tzolk'in.  It is the sign of the Deer and the nawal of all four-footed animals, the rainforest and the Mayan religion.  It is also the nawal of the four corners of the Earth, and symbolizes the pillars of the universe.  Manik is the day of the ajq'ijab, or Mayan priest; it represents power, force and authority.  The animal totem of Manik is of course the Deer.
