The Prophets Bonanza – The Approach to the Mayan End Date

It seems that at this particular time in the sixth DAY of the Galactic Underworld the discussion intensifies regarding the meaning of the Mayan calendar end date and of course its exact timing. Some people are making claims of being Maya-based prophets or even speaking on behalf of the Mayan people and its council of elders. I take it that for many who like myself have not have had the privilege of studying the Mayan calendar in depth the hearing and reading of this may be very bewildering as they shop around for the truth about “2012”. All kinds of different suggestions are made regarding the time ahead. The Annunaki are coming, there will be a geomagnetic pole shift, a galactic alignment will change everything, a shift in consciousness and volcanic eruptions. Some say that we are going into a special section of the galaxy where everything is speeding up and others that solar flares will intensify. And many of these purported events will take place on December 21, 2012 pretty much out of the blue. It is thus a time of bonanza for all kinds of prophets that not rarely misrepresent who they are and their relationships to the contemporary Maya.
For me, as a professional and accomplished scientist working to elucidate the higher meaning of the Mayan calendar, most of the above suggestions are mildly put irrelevant and are completely outside of any logical context of understanding. The only Mayan inscription about the end date talks of the descent of Nine cosmic energies and not about solar flares pole shifts. Many of these geological or astronomical ideas are simply invented by a bandwagon of purported 2012 experts, who simply have to come up with something special in order to carve out a niche for themselves and it is like they are not really taking our current situation seriously. They will sometimes refer to scientists that supposedly support their claims, maybe in Russian or Norwegian journals that neither they nor their fans have read or can read. When you hear a New Age prophet say that there are scientists backing their claims you can be almost certain that these scientists are saying exactly the opposite to what is claimed. In what they are the model of nine underworlds and thirteen heavens different from this plethora of ideas. I think in two ways.
First of all, being a professional scientist I have a code of honor preventing me from just making things up. True, not every scientist can be trusted, but it is not so common that professional scientists want to dishonor their heritage. Secondly, it is really irrelevant who developed the model of nine underworlds and thirteen heavens, since everything in this model is empirically based. To accept this model you only need to know that the facts and logic are right. As long as people know some basic historic or biologic facts, or be willing to check their accuracy out, they may understand how the Mayan calendar works.
So when I see this whole range of mildly speaking irrelevant ideas serving to confuse people and divert them from preparing for the birth of a new world I of course have to decide what differences between the scientific model and the various purported events of a physical nature on December 21, 2012 are truly important and which ones are not. Is it for instance important to disprove the idea that the Annunaki is coming? Is it important to emphasize that there is no indication that a geomagnetic pole shift is coming in the next few years? Is it important to point out that no Mayan text talks about a galactic alignment? Is it important to inform people as to the real background to the Dreamspell calendar? Is it not possible to let people believe in whatever they like regardless of if this an obvious hoax or not? Can I not just say that ”something” will happen in a ”window” of time between now and 2015?
The reason I am so emphatic that the end of the Mayan energies is on October 28, 2011 is that if people think it is December 21, 2012 they will simply miss out on co-creating the process. And the choice to make regarding this co-creation is something that several indigenous traditions say people have to do, and obviously have to make in time. I also am adamant that what will happen is in the evolution of consciousness the reason being that it will be very disempowering for people if they are to look for some kind of astronomical and geological event, when in actuality what is happening is with the people themselves.
So this is my rule of thumb: If some 2012 idea leads people away from consciously co-creating the new world in time, then I think it is important to clarify the fallacies in that idea.
But I would like to open this up to discussion. Provided that you agree with me that we will now be given the opportunity to be co-creators in the birth of a new world what is it really important to stand for and what can be ignored in the current Prophets Bonanza? What are your rules of thumb?

Purpose
I was so blown away when I first saw Ian Lungold's lecture a couple of years ago. It was as if there was a pole shift in my mind when I first started to realize that instead of a co-incidence of random events bringing us to what appears to be to be happening now, there is an established plan that has always been there.
It is as though fate and free-will have joined hands to lead us to an inevitable outcome. I try not to get too carried away with what I think might happen but just try to hang on and enjoy the ride. I find this all very exciting and inspiring.

The Profits Bonanza - Who Cares?
Beloved Carl,
A while ago there was an observation you made about the Unity of Eastern and Western cultures resulting from the progression of the Mayan Calendar... These insights deeply resonated at the time and may provide some clarity to this topic from an Eastern cultural view point.
In Truth, all of the perceived drama and injustice involving the Profits Bonanza is perfection in action from creation. How? Simply look at the hype and attention escalating within the collective consciousness about the calendar. Granted, in the West we have a historical conditioning involving ego and thus fear, but the objective is being achieved that there is now an expanded and growing awareness within the collective of the Mayan Calendar.
Similar to the dynamics that the Bush/Cheney administration (fear based) provided in shifting the consciousness of America and the world (and thus enabling Obama's presence), unknown numbers of Soul's will now feel the pull to investigate this Mayan Calendar thing and this web site will undoubtedly experience higher volumes. And all we had to do is nothing at all...!!!
From this perspective, the best rule of thumb might be to Trust and Allow.... Ian Lungold emphasis this message extremely well on his YouTube presentation; Allow, allow, allow. This is also a fundamental teaching in the East that enables us to detach from our own egoist fixations and attachments. There is nothing to "do"! Simply "being" the Truth of who we are is enough. Your observations, insights, and books, are an incredible gift for us all and more then enough.
Who Cares? Is a question that is asked in the East intended to help shift our awareness away from egoist agendas (needing to be right, confronting evil doers, resistance, etc.), and recognize the perfection of creation in the moment. And it most certainly works in strange and mysterious ways.....

prophets' bonanza - rules of the thumb

My rule of the thumb is 'resonance'. Does it resonate with me or does it sound 'out of tune'? Nothing to do with the mumbo jumbo of new ageism.
I feel that the more one is aligned with what I call the Divine and owns one's own mind, the less the chance of being 'duped' with out of tune/false colours peddling. This also applies if something is consistent from beginning to end, which the end date in October certainly is.
The whole sudden response of peddling 2012 in response to this is for me already a token that your view is true and that this other - false - view is the response. That to me is a 'give away'.
I agree with you on the point of the dreamspell and other side tracking manoeuvres being enacted right now.
One the other hand this is also true: people believe what they 'want' to believe for a variety of reasons and it can be hard to prise them off these sometimes very inconsistent views. Fear of often the great motivator for 'vested' views and this is of course supported by the system.
This does not mean that one must rest on one's laurel's when confronted with these views.
Personally, however, I take great care when discussing these things - keeping in mind that 'no soul shall hold sway over another soul', something I wholeheartedly agree with - because someone would come to a lasting change of viewpoint only when they can convince themselves that a change of viewpoint is in order. This based on my own experience and subsequent change of viewpoint.

Thus far, I have never actually met a member of any traditional Mayan community who was in the least bit concerned about the end of the Long Count calendar.
While they are aware that their ancestors engaged in speculation about the transition between the Fourth World and the Fifth World, they more or less seem to think that whenever it occurs, they will simply get up the next morning and go to work in the milpa as usual, just as they have been doing all their lives. The morning sun that shines upon their cornfield may be the Sun of the Fifth World now, but does that make a difference?
If you are already living the tzolk'in (or chol q'ij in the K'iche' language) as a spiritual path, attuning yourself to the rhythms of sacred time, experiencing the beauty of cycles subtler than the daily crash and bash of modern life, then perhaps it doesn't make a difference. You are already hard at work in co-creating the Fifth World. You are honoring Creation by keeping the days, which is what the ancient text Pop Wuj (aka Popol Vuh) tells us is fitting.
Trying to ride the wild train of the Prophets' Bonanza is a fast-paced business, and quite unsuitable for those who attune themselves to the more natural pace of the chol q'ij as a spiritual Road of Life.

Quite simply, I read your book and looked into my own life and especially transition times which coincide with the enrgy shifts. My deepest impulse, from the heart, has been to focus into the present moment while unravelling the conditioning that pulls me elsewhere; leaving behind much focus on the old structures ( religion, money, false power, etc), lierally jumping into the void while remaining in this third dimensional reality. Doing much else, besides the basics of physical survival, seems like folly. Time to wake up which can only happen in the eternal now as it is revealed moment by moment. Anything that has to do with fear or attachment to outcome is seen for the illusion that it is. I am grateful to have found your book which helps shed more light on this impulse to awaken going against the common culture and all its judgement and limitations. If there is a prayer for the illusory future, it is that I am guided to the places where I may most serve in the awakening of humaity. Carl, any suggestion?

Dr Calleman I have just discovered you today. Viewed quite a number of your videos and looked at various related websites. It is like a breath of fresh air to find someone who can convey how the Mayan calendar relates to our times in a way that seems to pull all the threads together. I am pretty tired of reading masses of stuff from other sources that to me seems like rubbish and is bogged down on the technical stuff about the calendar and big on setting up a fear factor about 2012.
I suspect that not many people would be ready for or welcome co-creation at this point in time. Maybe as we commence the next wave in November 09 that will start to rattle us all enough to start to drop our boundaries a bit and get into the flow of a more universal way of thinking.
As the old way of competition breaks down we may all start to embrace and take up the change instead of intellectualising continuously about it.

End Date Issues and Questions
Very good article. Hmmmm...my "rules of thumb" - the predicted end date is just that and nothing more. It is more important to change how you live your life.
I now live almost totally like this: No fear. No worry. Don't "believe" and "envision" a new earth - "feel" it. I also do not think that people will miss out on their ability to consciously co-create the new earth. I believe that they will be suffering unnecessarily (and more) by accepting and listening to the "noise" instead of the natural creative energies that are moving along. And, as we continue moving forward, the suffering gets more hurtful until one realizes he/she is responsible for their own life - literally a conscious co-creator - and we are all part of one. We will learn. And, if "we" don't, then that is that. The Universe is going to continue. It is all there is and will be.
I read a great article last year about the Mayan calendar end date and the conclusion was - "It's happening now. Don't focus on December 21, 2012. Or you will miss everything important."
I know my "rules of thumb" may not make sense but practicing those very simple ideas everyday has allowed me to avoid much of the chaos that is swirling around us all.
Reading your book was very enlightening. You write very honestly and don't seem to be coming from ego. Thank you for your time and effort in writing it.

Carl. Your warnings amuse me. If the Calender is correct, then how can individuals change the course of history? Surely, the 2012 lot are merely fulfilling the plan by diverting gullible individuals away, so that others can have a free reign to do their stuff?!
Lets face it, the establishment are busy chasing their tails, the gullible are in La La land. Finally, sensible individuals, focused, can just do their stuff, independently, from the grass roots, which will eventually give others direction, in time.
I'd be less worried about the date, more concerned about how you are going to take the power back once the elite have burned out the fire of power within them.

Agreed that the many dooms day projections lack substantiation. Many have been calling the end of days for centuries. All of them were wrong. That aside, I feel we should not to say that we might not see major changes on any level (physical or spiritual). To say that, I believe is equally as limiting as the thoughts of 100% probability of Bonanza fulfillment. We have to stay open to what comes and work with the hand we are dealt on a continual real time basis. The fact of the matter is that Carl Calleman has broken ground on deciphering the Mayan code and substantiating his claims with historical and empirical data that align with his theory. His work gives us a framework we can manipulate to help propel us in the right direction. If you take the probability of all the synchronicity of what is encompassed in the theory in a practical and objective manner, you end up with green thumbs up and a mark in the “very likely” box. Much more so than the probability of the earth shifting it's magnetic poles and spinning in an opposite direction or galactic debris smashing into the planet when it reaches galactic center. Some astronomers believe we have already passed through galactic center as of several years ago.
As another example, the one thing that threw me off was the History channel provided an ancient Mayan glyph of Mayan gods dumping water on the earth in the end of days. I guess it can be read several ways and believe you me that the media is run by corporations many of which do not hold to any human ethics other than to serve the insatiable greed of the lost and bewildered. Hence, the movie 2001 will likely pose to confuse more people than help. I agree with Dr. Calleman on this point.
Our ability to allow love to dominate our hearts, minds and souls without interruption of the false ego/physical self, is how I believe we emerge with the creator, everything and co-create together. Much easier said than done, but very possible. The word love has almost taken a negative connotation with many today. For those who feel that way, we should substitute the word with "highest form of thinking/feeling that will send you soaring to the top of existence like a bubble in a body of water.” We must at least try to free ourselves and enable our vast potential abilities in this way. What I have accumulated to date, points to this. I can’t see how we can honestly refute this. This is what thousands of years of wisdom tells us.

What keeps me going is a profound sense of trust.
I can't express in words my truth, is more a feeling, it is in the minute.
I find myself observing nature little wonders in my garden, sometimes is like meditating, I always recieve inspiration, love, harmonic vibrations.
The confusion around is fading and you were and are one of those people that helped me filter many of the obstacles I faced. Living the cosmic plan actively brings new relations about and unifies many that were before divided.

Anything to distract people from learning, growing, and evolving.
