Xiuhtecuhtli is the ruler of the First Day of the Trecena and is associated with the number One in the sacred Tzolk'in (Hun in Yucatec Maya or Jun in K'iche' Maya).  

Xiuhtecuhtli is also the Aztec god of fire and time. The energy he embodies is that of initiation and sowing.
